What would you think if you have a friend or family who enjoys living among wild lions for years without concern for personal safety? How would you react if it was suggested to you even with a notorious sum of money involved (smiles)? Well, Dean Schneider is living a life that he always refers to as ‘his dream life’ among wild lions.

A look around Dean’s page (which was created in his original name) indicated that, presumably, he started to live among wild lions since 14 October, 2016 (the same date that his page was created).

The about section of his page reveals his intention for creating a life-long project that has to do with wild animals, saying, “The 28-year-old Switzerland based Entrepreneur Dean Schneider wants to create a place where abused animals can find the way back into life. This is why he founded Hakuna Mipaka. And yes: The foundation is already much more than a project for him – it’s Dean’s life!

There is a bond he shares with his wild pets

In one of his videos, check below this paragraph, Dean is seen playing with a lion cub which was digging its claws into Dean’s neck. Asking how people would react in his situation, he wrote, “ He literally could have ripped open my entire face! But his intention was far away from that!”

Some fans, while commenting on the video expressed their fears in Dean’s high rate of getting hurt, others simply mentioned how adorable he looked with his lions. Below are some of the comments:

Karen Keller-Fasold:

“That looks so scary to me these are wild animals but it’s also Awesome to be up close and personal with these beautiful wild animals”.

Nadine Groult Norris:

“That lioness understands how far she can go with him …. its beautiful the bond he has with his lions”.

Terri Sinclair

How did he become part of the Lion pride?

He explained that communications, in Lion worlds, are done through body languages and sounds such as roars. He noted that every movement of a lion (as a whole or part of the body) is a form communication to him, whereas, the moment a person could not decipher what the lions are trying to communicate is where struggle starts and, right there, things could get dangerous.

Below is another video, explaining how Dean became a member of lion pride. Explaining that since he had to learn to communicate in the language of the lions because neither him nor the lions speak one another’s languages, he has abandoned everything that is human about him before stepping into the territories of the lions.

Dean also said that he had to think, act and live like a lion just to become part of the pride, affirming that, indeed, it is the only way to be respected, exacted and wanted by the lions. He revealed that once another lion or himself refuses to respect the request for independence of a lion at a particular time then danger is looming as the actual lion, in request of privacy, might turn violent.

While agreeing to how dangerous the lions could get, he revealed that lions are also social animals. According to him, “We know that they are BIG, STRONG, DANGEROUS, BEAUTIFUL, MAJESTIC & at the TOP of the FoodChain but there is sooo MUCH MORE to learn about Lions!

“Once we get an insight into their actual social behavior, their bodylanguage & their mentality it opens a whole new World and increases our level of Understanding for them! I am happy to be able to share all these Moments & Experiences first hand with You Guys! Keep spreading the Message and invite all Your friends to join our Journey and fall in love with our Planets Wildlife!”.
