Sen. ADEMOLA ADELEKE, popularly known as the Dancing Senator, has revealed that he has carpeted the gubernatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the coming governorship race in Osun State.
Sen. Adeleke who contested the 2018 governorship election under the aegis of the PDP against the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the APC, is uncle to the popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke (AKA, Davido). He was said to have won the 2018 election which was later declared inconclusive, thereby, pushing the struggle forward with a rerun election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 27 September 2018.
Recall that upon the rerun, candidate of the APC, Oyetola was declared winner, the development which Adeleke protested as coup. Going to the tribunal, Adeleke was declared winner on March 22, 2019 by the tribunal sitting in Abuja. However, the Supreme Court later affirmed Gboyega Oyetola as the authentic winner of the 2018 Osun State governorship election on Friday, July 5, 2019.
In the video posted on his Instagram account (with some of his allies singing to God), Adeleke said, “I’ve tested positive to become the next amiable Governor of Osun State, after a successful screening at the secretariat of our profound party. I’m fully ready to serve you my great people of Osun”.
Ademola Jackson Adeleke represented the Osun–West District between 2015 and 2019. He is from the Adeleke family, Ede in Osun State.
