“Leave am, it must burn” – Man says as Nigerian train catches fire on transit

A train of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has been gutted by fire on transit while plying the Itakpe-Warri route.

Some men, whose identities were not known, along other officials of the NRC were seen in the video trying to put out the fire by beating it with some tree branches as another man calls for precaution, saying, “Leave am, e must burn. The thing no go gree stop”.

Some officials were heard complaining that a fake item was used at the fire-gutted section of the train.

The video which was posted on AIT’s page on Facebook has attracted a lot of reactions from Nigerians.

Kelvin Bolu said, “What a nation! …leaving the needful undone but majori in minor. Where are the fire extinguishers in the budget? Corruption everywhere and Causing major damages to the nation (SIC)”.

Chika Dike, likely infuriated by the incident, opines, “This is the shame Muhammad Buhari and All Progressive Congress Government and the Transport Minister Rotimi Amechi has brought to zoo country called Nigeria shame on A.P.C change government (SIC)”.
